Spring events across MK parks this Easter

The Parks Trust has announced a packed programme of spring events across Milton Keynes, with free activities, family days out, nature walks and outdoor adventures taking place during the Easter break.

Highlights include open mornings at Howe Park Wood, a food festival at Willen Lake, guided wildlife walks, and a special Easter event at Stanton Low Park with crafts, games and family activities.

There are also cycling rides, wellbeing walks and nature sessions taking place across the city’s parks over the coming weeks.

Many events are free, while some require advance booking.

Funding boost for grassroots music venues in Milton Keynes

Several Milton Keynes venues are set to benefit from new funding aimed at supporting live music and local performers.

The funding will help venues including The Stables, MK11 and The Craufurd Arms continue hosting live events and developing local talent. The scheme is part of wider efforts to support smaller venues facing rising costs.

Organisers say grassroots venues play an important role in the city’s cultural life and help new artists gain experience.

Investment announced for high streets across Milton Keynes

New funding has been confirmed to support six traditional high streets across Milton Keynes, including Bletchley, Stony Stratford, Wolverton, Newport Pagnell, Olney and Woburn Sands.

The investment will be used for improvements to public spaces, events, and projects aimed at encouraging more visitors to local high streets.

The council says the programme is intended to support local businesses and help town centres remain busy and attractive places to visit.

New pedestrian crossings planned near Bletchley station

New pedestrian crossings are planned for Princes Way in Bletchley as part of wider work to improve safety near the station.
